Locks pretty good so far. Make sure to change that kindergarten airfilter into an K&N with a K&N top so that baby can breathe :)

I purchased the billet base from Marv. So the K&N filter and lid will also be included in this upgrade.

Slowly coming back together. Did a quick mock up with my carb to check clearance. Good to go.

Next phase cooling upgrades.

Waiting on my battery tray to be welded up into a box so I can use the volumetric space to mount things such as my master relay. Also, going to run an AN line for my top radiator hose. Waiting on bung and housing from Jegs.

So close I can taste it. Lol. :-)

Will your tank fit over that extreme lid?? We trim our lids to the size of the air filter under it..

Once my tank returns I will check for clearance. I'm sure it'll have to be trimmed.

Here a few shots of some of the non performance upgrades such as my master relay, upper radiator hose, and fuse box.

Installed a fan relay and now the fan sounds like a hovercraft. Keeps my temps below 210 now in town. Also upgraded alternator wire to 8 gauge. Also 8 gauge from battery to master relay and 8 gauge from relay to fuse box. Voltage does not drop when fan turns on. Installed a fan kill switch. When the light is on the fan is in normal mode, light off I'm in manual mode. Making the battery tray into a box enabled me to mount the master relay and fuel pump.

The carb throttle response is fantastic. Much smoother transition into the secondaries. The pipes are richer sounding and the pull is much more linear. The cam lope is slightly improved at idle. Right now have an oil leak at the rear of the intake. Will do the vacuum seal tonight using the Right Stuff. Having a slight idle issue when warm. Need to look at fuel bowl level when hot. Making sure it's not boiling out.

Making bike week should not be a problem.

My idle issue was caused by my distributor cap having carbon trails causing slight misfires and noticing my timing fluctuating as well. Replace cap and rotor, readjusted timing with fan running and now the idle stays steady along with no timing fluctuation. I'll take her for a spin tomorrow to make sure she road worthy for Friday. It's been one hell of a journey, but as you all know, when you twist that throttle it makes it all worth it.

I got one of Marvs filter assembly kits about 7 years ago along with a Carb Mike rebuild and it made a world of difference. My tank went right on with no problem. It was pricey but the quality was perfect, and it sure lets it breathe easier.

The last couple days sure have been an adventure. Got home from Daytona Sat night and my volts drop to 12. When in the garage I see the belt is on, so, I figure Alt crapped out. Went and got it tested, 90 amps no problem. Come to find out my new belt stretched and was loose and slipping. Get that back together and fire it up. 14 V. Yah. But then heard a loud pop..

Pull left valve cover to find broken rocker stud #5 exhaust and bent pushrod #5 intake. When to local engine builder and got new pushrod, nuts and ARP studs. As I pulled the old studs come to find many are bent. The conclusion is I had adjusted them to tight the first time. I used the TDC on each cylinder method. Well that didn't work. So, this time I used EO/IC to set lash. It appears to be what most guys are using. Got it all back together and fired it up. No more rocker noise as like before, and the bike idles better than before. More steady and consistent. Also when the fan turns on no more idle drop.

I thank God this happened in my driveway and not out in Daytona.

Off to Daytona tonight for 3 days.

After my upgrade I began using David Wards HP Lubricants oil. And when I pulled my valve cover I couldn't believe how clean the top of my heads were. I highly recommend it. :-)
