Fi for a 502 BB
Re: Fi for a 502 BB
Hard to tell in the picture, but is the frame in the way of the fuel ports?
Do you have to use both on the Sniper (feed/return)?
Fortunately for me I only had to run a feed, because I could only access 1 port.

Re: Fi for a 502 BB
We needed special fittings for the connection to the fuel ports if I understand your question.
And yes we are using the return line also....

Yeah, you got it. An AN90* fitting probably wouldn't work. Looking forward to seeing it come together.

This is what we bought..essentially the Holley Sniper Master kit but we did it in two stages..the fuel pump and filters are coming seperately in a kit in about 10 days..kit was supposed to land today BUT Holley is short product I guess..

Looks good!
Not sure if you were considering it, but the Barbarian guys looked to have put their fuel pump and filters right in the V of the valley of the motor between intake and valve cover. I've considered it for a long time, then once I saw that was how they were doing it I may just try it.
You have a ton of room on a trike to keep the pump away from heat and easy to access, but I don't know how much fuel line you want running around. Just a thought.

There is lots of room to work installing a pump on the trike behind the motor and beside the tranny...trikes are a plus.Jack wrote:Looks good!

Yesterday we installed a seperate simple fuel pump for the Reserve tank. It will pump into the Main when I run low on the Main. The FI will ALWAYS feed off the Main tank only. This simplifies the FI system and eliminates the need to feed a return line to the reserve tank.

Re: Fi for a 502 BB
I got to the shop after 1pm this afternoon and could hear a familiar lumpy idle / rumble in the Service side.
The Holley Fi fuel pump and lines showed unexpectedly early this morning and the guys had been running and tuning for about an hour when I get there..
Here is a video of the 502 purring...keep in mid you can't hear it real well because the stuck the exhaust tips out the door and close the door on the frame...it was -10 here today so too cold to test and tune outside. Idle was set at 650 today..see where we endup.

YAHOOOO!!! Needs some road time too but so far it is so fucking good!!

Your 502 sounds great Barry ! I hope that it preforms as well on your test ride ! Have you heard anything from Brian Macey yet ? It will be interesting to see the cost difference and advantages between your system and Brian's ! Craig H.

A demo for me is probably within 2 weeks if the weather goes to what the forecast says...if not I am not worried...
A few hours in the saddle will be a better indication once it really warms up versus a 15 or 30 minute jaunt I beleive...

Nice Barry!
I take it the fuel flows from the left side of the picture to the right? Is that the brass T fitting to connect the tanks?
Thanks for the pic.

Re: Fi for a 502 BB
Yes...we eliminated the cross over and we "t'd" the lines at the back of the tank that way the front of the tank can be raised easily.
We also have a return line plumbed into the tank.
We used the petcock as an inlet for pumping the fuel from the Reserve to the Main tank. There is no way to screw up overfilling the Main from the reserve as the Petcock needs to be on AND the reserve pump needs to be on. This was done because we are running the FI seperate off the Main only as I described previously.

Triker,Triker wrote:Hey Barry, are you shipping it to Florida for Bike Week?
The shipping window "if" I wanted to do that is gone unfortunately BUT I want to get it there for sure sometime.
Also the Fi needs some road time to be absolutely sure everything it 100% before buggering off that far from home. it will be good but just to get piece of mind in its workings.
Maybe I should ship it there for Biketoberfest this fall and leave it for 2018 March BikeWeek would make more sense...get my most bang for the buck in shipping..
It would be just awesome to run that mother around Daytona...
Thank you

They are 18's...I had 20's on for 2 years then went to 18 last summer so I could run lower pressures..
The rubber is 255/60 - 18 which gives me about 11% or so of an overdrive if you like from stock...drops rpms at highway about 300 which is awesome...
