Pingel petcock reserve?

Post by GordonBH »

My Pingel has etched on it OFF (at the front) and ON at the rear. I do not see any other marks and just started wondering if it is a reserve valve would it have RES in the middle?

I thought of starting it on the middle position and seeing if it ran out of gas but if the valve is half way ON and giving enough fuel then that test wouldn't work.

I don't want to find out there isn't one by running out of gas and trying the middle position to no avail.

Gordon,
there are two different Pingels out there. The factory usually uses the one without the reserve position. I never understood why....
If you want reserve you have to buy a new one and change it.

You definitely have the non reserve, the several reserve ones I had always had Res etched.
