Got rid of 95% of the noise. And I am talking back brakes on the trike!! And I also upgraded the pads like you did. Front and rear.
Remove the pads again and cut a peace to fit, I did drill two holes for the pins. glue it on and hopefully it will work for you.

Well........... that did not last long. Back brakes are making noise again. My last trike did it and this on does it. It has to be a bad design. So what is the problem????
Is it the metal on the rotors. Do I need better ones?
Why is it that Boss Hoss has gone much bigger on back brakes and I have these tiny weenie brakes. I took pictures and sent them to Wilwood, told them my problem and asked for a suggestion to my problem. No answer yet.
So if I go bigger calipers do I have enough oil volume to operate larger pistons. Can something in my master be changed to accommodate more volume and less pressure? if needed.
The noise is sooooooo embarrassing, I need help to fix this problem. Any ideas?? thanks
I had the trike for almost a year with 8,000 miles before this started, so not sure what is causing it to squeel. I have tried the red spray but so far it hasn't worked. Hope we can get a few ideas here.
I think you can spray stuff on them, replace them, redesign them, but in the end the squeal returns. Some times they don't make noise for years, sometimes right away. The reason they sell stuff to stop the noise is because its so common even on cars. It reminds me of the belt squeal on a Boss Hoss bike, you fiddle with it long enough and you'll get it to go away----but you put a new tire on it or change the belt tension or its a full moon and the noise might just come back. My Boss bike has no brake squeal, my Boss trike with the LINCOLN disc brakes has no squeal, my V8 Copper never had any on the rear but the front started squealing right after I put new pads in it. Since I don't get embarrassed about stuff like that I just said FUCK IT and could care less. To me its only important that it stops good.

Do your rear brakes stop your trike ok?
Sounds like the brake pads and rotors aren't compatible. One option is to try some different pad compounds and see if they will help solve the problem. Another option is to try a different pair of quality brake rotors. A lot of rotors are made in China today and their quality control leaves a lot to be desired.
If the rotors or pads are wrong,changing to different calipers is a waste of money.
Yes Clint, the brakes stop the bike. could be better but, ok.
I have tried better pads with no luck. I think you maybe correct. The rotors might be bad quality. Any suggestions on better brands. Have a look below, do I have good ones?
I have been very happy with the masters cylinders lately, both have been very very firm. NO pumping at all, for months not even once!!!! Maybe it was the Cialis
Those look like Wilwood rotors and if so,they are probably good quality. If it were me,I would call Wilwood and tell them your problem. They might be able to give you some suggestions on what pad to use.
As Barry mentioned earlier,the noise is most likely a glazed hard compound pad.
mine squeal like heck also and I have about a pound of anti noise grease on the pad backs, it helped some but I still get noise when I am almost at a stop. When you come up w/ a fix give me a holler.

Question, 'cause I don't know, the squeal comes from vibration between the brake pad back and the piston, in most cases. Does the pad compound have anything to do with the noise? Susan went with the platinum pads, allegedly the best, and still had some noise.

I am thinking it is the rotor. I have 8500 miles on the trike and only recently started having the noise issue. I have replaced pads and tried squeel stop so the only thing left is the rotor. Thoughts?? Although, I do like Carl's solution
The 15Q-6824K is our ceramic pad and is quieter as well as less aggressive than the 150-8850K (BP-10).
Please note that squealing can be caused by improperly bedding in the pads when new. Please refer to the link below for the bedding procedure. Also you will want to remove the rotor and clean the rotor face with 80 grit sand paper to remove the old pad material and any glazing.
I just finished removing my back brakes and sanding them with 80 grit, I found 5 out of 8 safety wires on the bolts broken. So I fixed them. going on a ride tomorrow with Aldo, I sure (I think) it will be quiet for a while. On the Wilwood site it looks like I have steel rotors. All the better ones are iron (the more expensive ones) but they don't offer an iron in my size. (I can't find one yet!)

When I backed the bike from the garage there was no noise, and that was always the worst noise. Later on in the day some small noise. It's not going to go away. I might need to redesigned this brake system. I will get some more miles on her, then see what happens.
I did have a problem with my speedo, it was running too fast. The wire I used has too much iron in it and the speed censer is on the bolts that need the safety wire. So I screw up, I need to redo the safety wire, with different wire.
That was all that I had. It was last minute!
