Water Pump

Post by Carl La Fong »

I finished my water pump project yesterday. Had a few problems along the way, but it turned out well and works as it should. Check it out at, http://jkcallin.blogspot.com/

Congrats on the water pump. I'm really impressed to see how you make the housings at home. Reminds me to a DVD which Jack Phillips gave me when I was at his home "The world's fastest Indian" - when Anthony Hopkins casted his own pistons in the garden. I think it's really cool what you are doing, Carl. I love it and wish I could do it myself.

Hey Carl:

I don't have the talent or brains to do what you did....

But I put a Mezier Sprint Car water pump - belt driven
on my old big block. I was happy with it.

I'm curious as to why BH decided on an electric water pump over a belt drive unit....

I tell all my machinist buddies and oil patch techs up here about your home cast water pump that looks pretty much off the shelf... they are grinnin' thinking you should be here in the R & D departments of most of the oil companys. Most million dollar ideas come from here, and are people who 'tinker' like you do.
