I believe it is never too early to plan a holiday.

Not even 2 days after I got home from Bikeweek Gwen and I were talking about Biketoberfest. I asked her if she wanted to go too and the obvious answer I expected and got was a resounding YES!! It is an option more so than last year because the 32 Coupe trike is sitting in storage in Ormond ready for us anytime we want to venture there....we are blessed!


She suggested we look if there were any Airmiles flights that might work for us..no harm in checking things out I said. Surprisingly we found great flights for the days we were thinking of going and I asked her "why would we not just book them now?" she said as I thought.."why not?"..so we booked.

This week I have been on the hunt for a 2 bedroom Condo on the Ocean as the Tropic Sun Towers where I normally stay is. Only one bedrooms available there though so really not an option.

UNDERGROUND PARKING is a must for me as I have been spoiled by Tropic Sun Towers.

I think I found the perfect place this morning but can't tell if there is underground parking...waiting for a reply..

We are there from October 7th and leave October 17th

YES they do Jack.....and secure underground parking!

I have no issues at all with Tropic Sun Towers...100% recommendation!! They just don't have any 2 bedrooms for Biketoberfest anyways...it is like home to me as the past 4 years I have been there I have had exactly the same room 609...home sweet home!!

Just booked a 2 Bedroom Condo..YAHOOOOOOO!!!

We are staying at Sherwin Daytona Beach Shores, 2555 S. Atlantic Ave. About the same distance South of Main on AIA as I was North before. I like the Ormond beach area but will see what this is like...

We fly in on Thursday the 6th..(I thought 7th...ooops) and we fly out on Monday the 17th...

We did Airbnb this time around but for March if this place turns out to be as nice as I think then we will book with the Rental Manager by the week...had we wanted 2 weeks this time even we would have not gone Airbnb..with these 11 nights needed now the price was the same either way except we would have had 3 extra nights through the Rental Manager that we could have changed the flights for if we wanted to use them...

Countdown is on...unbeleivable to have everything wrapped up so soon!!

About 5 weeks out, who else is coming?

Looks like just 3 couples / 6 of us...

Mark could always try this: http://rentafriend.com/ so they could attend gatherings as a couple. I'm sure Barbara would not mind. Sue lets me do it when traveling...

Not sure what this event will look like for Gwen and I yet.

When we booked it in March we were both hoping for more of an improvement with Gwen so we would be certain she could ride the trike while down there. She has improved and we are more than grateful for that. To date she has not ridden with me here or even attempted to get on the trike...we need to do try that soon.

It could come down to us getting there and having to rent a car for her for the event..I AM REALLY HOPING NOT!!! I am staying positive that with the roads being smooth or smoother down there she will be OK but that will not be decided until we get there..

So keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she does continue to heal and she so wants to be down there with all of us and is looking forward to a well deserved holiday.

I was pretty sure you would attend Tom...will be great for Gwen to meet you and Nancy and everyone else who attends..

Thanks Norm...Gwen's unknown passenger abilities have me somewhat worried but I am sure we will figure it out somehow.

Only 3 days now! Bonus is you won't have to sit alone here anymore!

For sure..fingers crossed in every way I can. Gwen and I think she will be able to ride somewhat and may need a day here and there R&R at the condo reading/ meditating / listening to the ocean etc etc and then meet with us later...total unknown right now Bill..

Has a Hurricane ever been an impact on the event??

Watching Hurricane Mathew updates today and it shows East side of Florida in red and under State of Emergency...hmmmmmm
