According to FB, John Stanley was hit today riding his Bike. I read he was pretty banged up but OK. I also read he was waiting for some scan / Mri or some type of test to look for an internal injury. Will post more when I hear it. This is what I saw posted on his page ...

V8 family I want to let everyone know that John Stanley has been in a severe motorcycle accident today. He's in intensive care due to head trauma, broken ribs, lacerated liver, and their worried about his heart since he's had heart surgery in the past. He is at Osceola Regional Medical Center phone (407) 846-2266. I don't have a room number yet. His wife Charlotte Gram Stanley will be posting updated information on her Facebook page. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

It was his V6 Hoss. Some idiot was passing a vehicle coming the other direction and hit John head on. I don't know the speed. He's having AFIB and a stroke. Vision loss more on his left eye than the right His speech and mobility are ok thus far. More to come later.

Please forward a prayer for speedy recovery to John from across the pond.

[Just missed a lane wanderer today, on mobile phone I think, WTF. I could have been like John now. Having a JD to reflect and settle nerves.]

Dennis and I paid John a visit yesterday. He is in a fairly high state of pain due to 5-7 cracked ribs and broken bone in his right hand. The docs want to align the bone and install a pin and splint. Blood pressure and AFIB seem to be under control. They attributed that to the Morphine. Still a little unclear if the accident was due to the other vehicle or John having a stroke. His daughter is still trying to get a copy of the FHP police report. We did see the tow report which labeled the other vehicle as vehicle 1 which is the at fault vehicle. More details to come as they unfold.

Do not have any specific news other than I read that he has been moved to a rehab facility named Health South in Altamonte Springs, FL. Apparently he is doing MUCH better and they expect him to be able to go home in 2 weeks.
I also read that Saturday, August 5th is his birthday. Those of you that have his cell # feel free to call / text as I read the family was going to give him his phone tomorrow.

My wife and I went and visited John yesterday and he's doing so much better. He barely needs any pain meds. He can get up and walk to the bathroom, but needs the wheelchair to get around outside his room. His toughest battle is dealing with his loss of left side peripheral site and up close vision. He does some sort of therapy daily whether it's physical or vision. His spirits are good and appreciates everyone's love and support. We had the honor of celebrating his 67th birthday with his wife Charlotte, 2 daughters, and some grandkids. He's a blessed with a wonderfully loving family. They surprised him with his dog Whitey who is now registered emotional support dog. I've attached a business card to the facility he is in. His room number is 123. Cell 407-791-8305, and I would refrain from texting because of his sight issues.

John has made vast improvements. His close up vision has improved, but the left peripheral still needs work. He can get and walk on his own, with the slight aid of a cane. AFIB is still a small problem, but manageable. 3 more weeks to go till the small cast comes off his right hand. Very little overall aches and pains. He is to be released for home on the 18th. He, and his family thank you all for thoughts and prayers. :-)
