Jack, I just called the Motorcycle Superstore for you. The item # is 6130, and it sells for $291.99. Triker

Thanks Triker
I only get about 3500-4000 miles out of the 280 -18 metz , I was hoping someone else made a tire this size I would try for better results . I think there are other MFG. That make a 250 or 260 -18 but I think they may look too narrow with my rear fender ????

Jack, Avon makes a 300/35R-18, probably too wide, right?

Ya Triker , I only have 1/2" clearance each side insidemy fender so I think a 300 would be really pushing it . I'll probably just buy another 280 and plan on replacing it every 3500 mIles or so .

Has anyone ever ran a 260 - 18 Metzler rear tire . I't appears to have the same load rating as the 280 - 18 , is only 3/4" narrower , about 1/4" large in dia. and cost about $100.00 less .

Benny doing some Reaserch and am considering 3 different tires

Metz. 260/40R-18 , load 84-1120# 's, 10.200 wide , 25.980 dia.
Dunlop Elll 250/40R, -18 , load 81-1019 #'s , 10.200 wide , 26.200 dia.
Avon Cobra 250/40R-18 , load 81-1019 #'s , 10.000 wide , 25.900 dia.

The current tire I'm running is a Metz .
280/35R-18 , load 84- 1120 #'s ' 10.900 wide , 25.790 dia.

All 4 tires are V speed rated 149 MPH .

I value anyones opinion as to what I should choose .

Thanks , Jack

Jack,
I would not compromise with the load index so stay with a Metzeler.

Thanks Wingman , I think I'll go with the 260 Metz , same load rating as the 280 , just slightly taller and v about 3/4" narrower . And about $100 cheaper considering I go thru 1 a year .
