Dennis, thanks for relaying that story and cleaning off the drool :D, Looking forward to line up against Marv and a maybe a BB Vanquish for comparison. I seem to have an issue with secondaries not opening. The guy who bought my red 502 brought it to Mike to have some mods done and found there were not working on that bike either. Maybe I should check my current bike

Mike has run into a few more issues most likely to the bike sitting for so long: replace all the fuel lines (they are high end braided hoses with AN fittings, He said they are something you would see on a drag car), rebuild fuel pump and fuel regulator, and a new coil.

Should have him throw in a Vanquish tranny while at it?? It is only money

Barry, true, but considering the cost of the tranny? and I had heard that when Mountain put that one in a 502 it was 20k for labor and Tom said he would never do it again. Am hoping That Tom"s will make an appearance at some point and for a reasonable price - we will see.

Update..... Just when Mike thinks he is ready to take her for a ride something else "pops" up. After installing a breather, rebuilding the carb, replacing the fuel lines, rebuilding the fuel regulator...... she was ready to start and she did but wouldn't idle. After several hours of carb adjustment she finally was idling at 1000 RPM but...... wouldn't stay running turns out there was a module in the distributor that would over heat so Mike is going to install an "MSD Street Box" but Mike also noticed that the alternator was hot wired to the key switch, so that had to be rewired. :banghead: He is optimistic that she will be road worthy by the end of the week. We shall see..........

This is just so wrong at soooo many levels - Petite Moose has seen our bike more than we have and has even heard it run!!!! The latest update is that a new carb is going on this Monday. The Holley Dominator carb that is currently on the bike just wouldn't idle so a new Quick Fuel 950 is on its way. After that she should be good to go.

BTW -Petite you have a room Friday night March 6 at the Hampton Inn in DeLand.

:deadhorse: I know I know but we are hopeful that she will be home by bike week. Looks like Friday will be the day. As for meeting Saturday - the Volusia mall across from the speedway about 9am. See you soon. :ridding:

YES, The rumors are true :) I have heard it run ... And had to excuse myself in search of cold running water after. WoW that bike is N A S T Y. The carb on it just simply will not idle under 1500 rpm reliably. Obviously not streetable. I had the task of assisting to "stabilize" the Beast while Mike Greg and Matt were performing other tasks on the bike while it was running. At one point the bike idled at around 850 rpm for about 3 seconds and it was Pure Engine Porn. If my hands weren't full, I would have taken a video but there just wasn't the opportunity.

Looking forward to Picking Organ Donor up and getting it to its new home Friday :) Should be a GREAT start to an Awesome week!!
In addition to Saturday morning Breakfast and Coffe in DeLand, I understand there are Boneless Wings, Peeled Shrimp and a daily cocktail hour to be had. I will leave the "Buger" to Don and Barry.

:hmmmm: well the saga continues! :frustrated: Dennis (Petite Moose) , Sue (Iron Maiden) and I (V8 Bikers) arrived at Summitt Boss Hoss in Marco Island this morning about 9am. Truck and trailer provided by Dennis, we were ready to load her up after a test ride. While warming her up Sue noticed that there wasn't a brake light :o Mike Kelly (Summitt Boss Hoss owner) and his can do attitude got the team together to figure out how to incorporate a brake switch without showing any cables or wires. His team is amazing and after switching the license plate to the right side and running the wires through an existing swing arm hole we thought we were good to go. Good news/bad news there was an exposed wire inside a custom aluminum box that housed a cluster and I mean a CLUSTER of wires. From moving the wires around this wire happen to short out the brand new street box. The decision (5pm) was to keep the bike at the shop and have it rewired. I think once the board see's the pictures below you will all agree. This was something that was on the to do list I just didn't think it would be this soon. But the good news is that it happened in the shop and not once I got it 5 hours home. Everything happens for a reason. I will keep you all posted on the progress.
