November Canadian Ride

Post by CanuckHoss »

These pictures were taken yesterday on one of the most popular and scenic rides that is only 40 miles from me and about an hour long through the mountains, the scenic part.. I do it from the South to North and it is about 4 hours saddle time round trip.

it is on Highway 40 and called the Highwood Pass.

Generally this is not a road you can do in November due to snow at home and up on the Pass. It is only open Mid June to end of November.

We have been blessed with summer like weather in November with days in the 60 to 70+ F ranges..yesterday was 73 F at home and probably 55 or so at the top...I just had to ride it.

Spectacular scenery Barry, glad you are having warmer temps to enjoy the riding season longer!

Usually speaking by the end of October we are pretty much done due to snow and if there is no snow it is just not riding temperatures..as in the 40's F

Appreciate that Randy...thank you.

An Acupuncturist here told me that the Rocky Mountains have one of the highest energy fields in the world for healing etc...I guess that might be what draws me to them all the time...the energy...I feel so good when visiting and staying there.

Salt AND sand..actually more like pebbles not sand...they have not done so yet as the first snowfall a month ago melted right away and the roads were warm enough to not ice up.

As soon as they do the first salt / sanding...I AM DONE RIDING...even if it goes to 70F two days later...

Salt is not our friend . I have a friend that bought a new Harley Heritage Softail back years ago with polished aluminum cases and other polished aluminum parts (not chrome) . He rode it on the beach in Daytona a few times , loaded it in a trailer and hauled it back to NY without washing it . The salt absolutly ruined that Harley and there was no saving it . all the Aluminum parts had to be replaced this time with chrome , new wheels also , big $$$$'s

Jack...

When I am down in Florida with my trike it gets washed every night upon arrival home and in the morning gets a nice quick Lucas Speed Wax for the day...recommended by V-Man and now after a few years highly recommended by me.
