Re: No more squealing!!!
PROGRESS!!!! We finally got the right combination of belts. Because my engine is a 450 it has a higher deck height so I needed a longer alternator belt than recommended. The pump is on and belts adjusted we will finish the job tomorrow and I will give a ride report, weather permitting.

Re: Squealing back brakes, Again
I am thinking it is the rotor. I have 8500 miles on the trike and only recently started having the noise issue. I have replaced pads and tried squeel stop so the only thing left is the rotor. Thoughts?? Although, I do like Carl's solution

Re: Squealing back brakes, Again
I had the trike for almost a year with 8,000 miles before this started, so not sure what is causing it to squeel. I have tried the red spray but so far it hasn't worked. Hope we can get a few ideas here.

Re: Timing tab location
Am I supposed to remove the front fairing just to get the bike timed?? No, you don't need to remove the fairing from the bike. Instead you should remove the bike from the fairing. Sorry - it's been a long week and I just couldn't resist. OK...........I'll stand still for my punishment.:kick: :funny...

Re: No more squealing!!!
Spoke with Tom today at V8Choppers here is what he said....
Use NAPA Belts XL 7315 & XL 7335
The smaller port on the pump is to allow for adjustment.
Put gasket sealer on the block side only this will allow the pump to slide if and when adjustment is needed.
Thanks Tom!!

Re: No more squealing!!!
Today I thought I heard my water pump making noise. :anvil: Have you heard of a recall or???? Sounds like your new one might be an upgrade? OH NO!!!! I hope you are not having any problems with your water pump Norm! I don't know of any issues with the pumps. We do think the pulley is smal...

Re: cool stuff
This is "cool" stuff! I was hoping to find an answer to a question about the size of the water pump port opening compared to the engine port opening - should they be the same size? The new water pump I just received has a 7/8" port and the engine is 1" (I no longer have the origi...

Re: No more squealing!!!
Wish it was that easy Petite. Tomorrow is a holiday so auto parts stores are probably closed, and the gaskets are no good since we put on the gasket sealer and installed pump before noticing the belt was too loose. A member left me a PM with the belt part number needed. So by Monday we should have w...

Re: No more squealing!!!
OK, refill your popcorn!! :banghead: Once again our plans to get my trike back together have been dashed!! We installed the pump only to realize the water pump belt was really loose. There was not enough adjustment in the pump to make up the slack. After scratching our heads, the only reas...

Re: No more squealing!!!
Sorry for the delay....... At this time we are waiting for a water pump from V8 Choppers. Rhonda and Stan "hooked" us up and swapped out the old water pump. The new one is arriving today or tomorrow. We should be able to install it over the weekend, if the weather holds out I will be able ...
