Re: Distributor Cap and Rotor

If the oxidation gets bad you will feel the difference. I would look at the contacts at 20K and replace the cap and rotor if needed. You should also check the weight pivots for "ovalling"......Joe

Re: Mallory Ignition system

Just an FYI. I have about 4000 miles on this ignition/distributor now. One of the truly great upgrades. The motor idles perfectly even with my lopy big cam and stays right when in 1st at stops ( this was a long time problem for me ) The throttle response is much better. Very crisp and clean. WOT is ...

2000 or earlier Corbin Seat needed

Anyone have a pre-2001 Corbin seat I can buy? I don't care about the condition because I just need the pan to have a custom seat made. Any reasonable price is OK...Joe

Re: Damn unreliable Boss Hoss

$45K miles on by 383 stroker and have taken seven eight cross country trips of 4K miles or more. I've had only minor issues, none of which came close to stopping my progress. Of course, I've done a billion upgrades over the years but my first few long trips were with the bike bone stock. I find it M...

Mike...wonderful video. Why no outrage?...I really believe that the difference between Vietnam and this inhuman war is conscription vs. the all volunteer army now. If we had a draft, the six figure parents would be outraged but...hey if you volunteer, you get what you signed up for..Just MHO...Joe

Okie Whether or not the bulk of your post is true, the great thing is that you have quit being a sheep and are actually THINKING for yourself. Jack
Actually I was worried that the the fan might not shit off before until 180 and that the thermostat might not allow temps below 180 so that the fan would never shut off but as I said, my FS-120 only cools it down to 190 so no problem...Joe

Re: eBay

I just don't think gas mileage is a priority with these bike owners! Probably the fact that the BB is discontinued has more to do with it. Taking a short ride for $100 in gas is the norm with a BB now. Only money

Re: Thermostat Change

Jack What makes you think I'm running at 200 with a 180 degree thermostat? First of all, for some unknown reason, my FS-120 fan switch turns on at 205 and off at 190  I don't know why but it does. When I put it in several years ago it was 195/180 but for two years it has decided 205/190 is wh...

Thermostat Change

I replaced my 160 thermostat with a 180 today. This will keep the motor at 180 at least. My FS-0120 fan switch turns on at about 200 and off at about 185-190 so my engine temps should now always run in the 180-200 range...Just where I want it to be. I never believed that cooler is better and after r...

Re: Pan leaking

Butkicker
I'll bet the problem is not the pan but the leak is from above. I had a leak from the rear of the intake manifold which crept down to the bottom of the tranny and I thought the pan was leaking for months!

Certainly doesn't seem like a spot for a week long rally. How about some good restaurants, bars and a strip joint or two. What happened to the great places like Seven Springs or even Gatlinburg if it has to be Tennessee :?: :? Milling around a state park with the law all over us....Why?

Hi Rob That's my stock black plastic fan that I've had since I bought the bike as a new 2000. Never changed it because it has always worked fine. Are black fans no longer available? I hate that "Plastichrome" junk. I've never seen one that doesn't chip or peel in time especially since it i...

I'm looking for a Corbin seat for the 2000 or earlier small block. Condition is unimportant as long as the pan is good. I'm going to have a custom seat made and need that pan..Joe

Elliot....I always thought the same and would never use anything but Windex or specific chrome polish on chrome because of previous fuck ups. I had a few minor scratches on my handlebar and figured I'd give it a try at Stamford's recommendation. It worked perfectly removing the scratches and not abr...
