Am I right in thinking the neutral switch can be seen in the underside view - a feeler guage looking strip of metal with the green wire leading to it?
Does moving into a gear push a 'pin' onto the metal grounding it and making the light go out?

That was a B model. When the shift drum is in neutral, a flat spot in the drum lets that "feeler gauge" make a ground connection for the green wire. I think those pics were when a piece of my sun gear broke and locked the planetary unit. Guessing that was 10 yrs ago.
