Hi all, does anyone know the oil capacity for the early type 2” forks please

Ask in Cologne. I had my forks redone and they overfilled them on purpose (500ml on each side???) and used a higher (stiffer) W-Grade.
After that I had a all new and better riding bike. Really recommend it

750 ml each side is what I used on my 04 SB. Chose Bel Ray 15W fork oil as I live in a warmer climate.

502, are your forks the right way up forks and do you mean 500ml was put in the legs or 500ml over what it should be. I can put over in but don’t know what it should be to start with

Thanks, I have a manual for the later bikes but not for my year 96

My 502 had inverted forks.
Sorry but I dont remember how much oil Cologne put in in total to "overfill" them.

Maybe he fill it to the top??? It has happened.

Just been looking through some paperwork I got with the trike. It says 8oz or 10oz for complete strip. That’s 284 ml. A lot less than inverted forks. That doesn’t seem a lot does it ??

Have I reall got the last pair of 2” forks. Did nobody ever change the oil ??

My 2000 SB originally had the old style fork and the take 8 Oz of #15 fork oil . I've since converted to the new style forks .

Thanks mate, that will do for me. Out of interest was the swap worth while ?

I don't see much difference but the inverted forks look more up to date IMO .
