The fork slides protection will have to wait now I have the tranny sump plate leak... focus now is on a 1/4" steel plate replacement.

Anyhow, I'm really suprised that I can't find a single BH with any Rad protection, I've looked through almost all the Youtube clips, Daytona, German rallies etc. and can't see one with any primary grill in place. Similar mods on my other bikes has no effect on engine temp.

I'd think these Rads are expensive to fix or replace and prevention rather than cure is best option?

there are some in the states, but they are rare, as there are usually higher temperatures than here...

Why does your tranny plate leak?
Was that after reinstalling it?
If yes, the two screws holding the plate need verry little force to tighten up. If you use too much, you'll bend the plate and it leaks...

Hi Martin,

returned from bike test and noticed oil on floor under gearbox. I've not touched anything under the bike but I have been around the forums and note the comments made about those two x 2 pin retainers, in fact there's enough flange bellowing out above and around the sump plate to use for additional securing.

I have a non intrusive engineering "clamp-on" idea to fine tune, and keeping ground clearance at it's current level...

I dread the thought of oil dripping into the path of the rear tyre or even onto hot exhausts!

steve, I thought exactly the same about rad protection. Barry has them for sale but with import duty and post they work out very expensive. I have some expanded aluminium which I plan to fit before my big trip in June.

I've had a shield on my radiator for 17 years . No problem with over heating .

That's a def mod as I spend a lot of time straightening out those tiny fins from bugs. I guess I've been lucky with rocks. Prevention is better than cure. And it looks good.
