Sorry... another tire question

So, I have Avon Venom tires front and rear. On my new(old) Mountain 502
300/35R 18
140/70B18
Avon no longer make a front tire in this size.
rear replaced with the Cobra AV72 300/35R 18 87V They don't make a rear in a 140/70 18

So I guess I switch to a Metzeler? ME880
300vr 18 87V
140/70B 18 73H
Just getting ready to order tires!

The metzeler Rear tire is so soft a compound that all you will get for mileage is 3,000 - 3,500 and it will be BALD and the sides will be all cupped. At least the Avon will last 5,000 - 6,000 in the 300

We are kinda screwed with a Capital F on tires. My experience has been that Avon sends out tires pre-dry rotted tires and Metzlers crack from the weight (despite telling Dealers that the tires will do fine) then when you ride them in with 900 miles on them they tell you "it's too much bike for the tire".

Long Story short, there is no dependable good option. It's buy what you like / can find and hope it lasts but don't count on it.

Right now I have 2500 miles on my Avon 300 rear. That is the record for longevity so far ...

The Metzler 880 on the front is doing GREAT and it has 3500 on it and is looking good :)
