Planning on it Barry.

I bought a tow vehicle.
But I have to sell one of them trikes. the wife wants her car back in the garage.
I only built this trike to show Sq4mn that, a non license auto mechanic person. can change an oil pan.

IT BREATHES

At first start it was not getting any gas. I connected the fuel pump backwards. Easy fix. DUA
Then it started to spit and pop. The distributor was pre wired when I got it and it was wired CCW firing and not CW. easy fix.
Then it fired up, set the timing to 34deg. runs good.
Next week I hope to get it on the road. Front brakes are dragging, need to finish the wiring. A little more work on the back brakes. Brakes are important on the first trip! My very strange head light need to be installed. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, I can see it. :capwin:

The first ride!!!!!

It was awesome. Fucking awesome.
Took it easy because of little braking. Turning seems to be harder than expected at higher speed. Wrong rake maybe. The Alternator does not charge at idle. Should I get a different size pulley? or take it in the get it adjusted?. Sure is a head turner.
The seating is great, very comfortable. My legs are not to close to the headers. pleased with that.
I can't seen to get the sound to copy!! I'm doing something wrong...sorry

A head turner indeed!! Now I'm assuming the 'brand/name' of this trike is Predator? Very cool.

Norm, it looks and sounds great !! You really kicked it and got it finished in little time too. Can you tell me what the 700r4 and jag rear feels like on the road? Your machine sure is a head turner and I wish you many happy miles of cruising on it !!!! Good job.

Houston we have a problem.......................

the motor never seem to run quite right.
I haven't been able to get 4 gear to shift yet. So I did something and was taking it out for a ride tonight, it did not work, still no 4 gear. (700R4). The motor popped a couple of times. So when I got home, I checked the plugs and wiring and timing. So I decided to remove the valve covers for the first time and there it was!!!!!! :hmmmm:
One rocker was very loose, the set screw came loose and laying on the head and the other, was......bent. I hope the lifters are ok. I will get 2 pushrods tomorrow.
So how do you adjust these, without getting the floor dirty
I was hoping for a good test ride this weekend. It has never been on the freeway yet. Dam bikes.

If you have an old cheap set of valve covers around just cut a hole in the middle so you can access what you need to then bolt them on. Oil stays in and off the floor and you get the valves adjusted. If you don't have an old set laying around get a $20 cheap Chinese set from the local parts house.
Just my .02

Got 2 new push rods installed, a couple of people sent me some very good advice on adjustments Thank you.
Took it out for a spin, and she ran good. much better on all 8. I opened her up a little. the carb needs some work!
I came up to a light and I heard some weird noise on the right, I thought I bent the rods again but I blew out two baffles. Dam I would have like to seen that!! They are now attached much better, this will never happen again. I will do a compression check this weekend to check the valves, ect. I think all is well with the motor. Don't know what happened?
But that transmission won't shift into 4th. I rode around with a pressure gauge attached and the pressure looks good. about 90lbs and goes up over 200 on WOT. Played with the TV cable but no luck. I need to find a 700R4 dude to have a look. I installed that special linkage that connects to the carb for proper geometry.
PS: it does smoke the tires :burnout:
