Magnefine Inline Filter

Last year when I tried to get the inline filter from NAPA as many of us previously have they told me it had been discontinued in their stores. I have never heard if others have had the same issue but I found them cheaper to buy online anyway. Then Aldo found them even cheaper than I did. They are also available from Ford but I have never tried to get one there.
Has anyone found replacement filter elements for the housing yet?

NApa part number 1-8512 Magnefine inline magnetic filter 3/8 inch.

It's a standard fuel filter,come on it's made in Austrailia,how complicated can it be

It has a magnet inside it. The end with the sticker will unscrew and it has a cartridge filter inside.

Yeah,I meant the inner is just a fuel filter,took mine apart,it had a little beard on the magnet nothing big,if I would have known that I wouldn't have bought another,just cleaned her up and put back in.Same with my pickup filter in the tranny,nothing on it,just found a few sprinkles on the pan,found some moisture though,from it not getting warm enough on my cold weather rides.

I have not had time yet but take to a parts HOUSE not a parts store,they will be able to match quick.Thought I had a number around here but can't find.I'm at work.

Great info Aldo,I found that after 5,000 miles it still lokked pretty clean except for a little gray fuzzy on the magnate,maybe I'll go to changing once every two years,what do you do?

Aldo , great price but I still can't understand why we can't find these filters locally like at Auto Zone , Advanced Auto, NAPA etc.

Jack ,have you had one apart?They just have what looks like a standard fuel filter inside,but Mike talked to the guy that makes them ,says there is a certain way to put back together,doesn't look like rocket science to me but for the price,once every couple of years,what the heck.

Napa use to sell the filter assembly, but last year I was told they had discontinued it according to my local store. I came home and ordered several filters online saving a lot of money and I didn't even get as good of a deal as Aldo found.

Every 2 nd oil change...but thats just me....I'm on my 2nd tranny, so cheap insurance.

Transmission oil draining as I type.
Replacing Magnefine filter in the morning.
New tranny oil, new magnefine, new front
tire, fresh oil and filter, need new speedo
cable. Gettin' it ready to ride to Shane's
place in 2 weeks! Woo Hoo!

I got 171 miles out of a tank once...
