V8 Chopper belt replacement

Post by V8Bikers »

I do not need to yet but would like to know how when the time comes. Sue's trike has the mechanical water pump and we would be replacing both belts at the same time. It is an 09 and has the older style radiator. I am sure it is pretty straight forward but wanted to check first. Has anyone done this yet and can provide a step by step tutorial? Thanks.

call Chris at V8Choppers, he can answer that. I asked during Biketoberfest and think that he told me that the radiator needed to be moved forward but I ain't gonna swear to it.

As I recall you have to loosen the water pump and move it slightly on the block to adjust the lower belt. I never did it myself so I could be wrong. My bike manages to get to Oklahoma at least every couple of years and usually gets whatever it needs at that time. The upper belt adjustment is easy.
