There were about 20 bikes from our club and a few guests on a ride through some twisty mountains up in the pines. It was two lane road, one lane each direction. We were going pretty fast but not to fast for normal bikes. Boss Hoss is not the best bike for those kinds of roads. My opinion is the curve was to sharp for the bike to make it around at that speed. According to the guy behind John his bike had been scraping pegs on many turns so it was at its limit. I have rode with John many times and will attest that he could make that bike go around turns amazingly fast but you only have to fuck up once and I guess it was Johns day. He had talked about hanging it up a few moths ago but I guess he decided to ride a little longer. This was the wake up call for him to quit like he says while he is ahead. We are just happy that it was not worse and that he will be ok. He was as witty as always even as they were loading him on the stretcher.

So sorry to read this. Glad your not too badly beat up. This can happen at any age but 70, I salute you sir. Is it really necessarily to give up completely. Feel free to join me and all the other “homos” and ride on three.
Get well soon from us over the pond.

Sorry to read the bad news, it's a distressing thought when the road runs out under you and I dread the day I witness or experience this myself.

This has to be the main bikers nightmare. :(

Can't believe you had the balls to write that. I thought it for a split second... but then the Spirit of LaFong chastised me...

I tend to be the quintessential wise ass half of the time. which half is your choice. Trikes are okay, I've had a few. I have to stir the pot from time to time to

Crashing sucks. Hope you heal up fast, Mr. La Fong.
It looks like you have to get one of those "Homo" Trikes..

Fuck man, sorry to hear.
55 years of riding is more than a lot of people get to even walk this planet. Hang up the leathers and live to tell about it man.
70? Had me fooled. Wise like 90 but a smartass like 20. Good for you John.

When you get on the trike, you can put your balls in the trunk - or your purse.

Sorry to hear that bad news, happy that your injuries aren't severe, while understandable, sad that you're hanging it up.
I certainly hope that you will continue to post on this forum, always did relish reading your witty shit and have a hearty laugh; please continue to monitor and inject LaFong's wit.

Hi John. Sorry to hear of your mishap. Praying for your speedy recovery. And don’t rule out the trikes. That can be quite fun. And if you choose to call it quits, please stay around here. Your wit and humor would be misssed.

Take care.

Sorry to hear the bad news Carl. You've had a good run! I'm currently at 50 years of riding. Trikes are NOT for homos, Trikes are for whoever wants to ride them! Good luck to you in your recovery! Good luck and take care!

So, if not trikes - what are the homos supposed to ride?

La Fong, good to see the sense of humour wasn’t damaged. I bought a trike because the thought of riding a BH on UK roads scared the shit out of me and I’m only 55.
So maybe a little bit gay !!!
A real shame if a small error of judgement stopes you riding. I know, keep riding, JUST SLOW DOWN !!!

Sir, Prayers for your fast and complete recovery. May I respectfully submit the idea of a reverse trike modification to your present bike. Much more rubber on the road, superior cornering has been proven, as well as superior braking. NO concerns with your legs handling the weight of the bike at walking speed, nor at zero MPH. This fellow may be just your man  , I don't know:
