Boss Hoss cycles Germany :germany: suffered a huge loss today in Faak am See Austria. Their tractor trailer loaded with 10 custom bikes went up in flames. :( No one was hurt thankfully. Pictures can be seen on facebook under Bosshossmotorader

That is terrible news. Damage so far more than a million euros (1.3million US $) . I guess Ernst had to go to to hospital because of smoke poisoning. Also terrible for Andy Müller and probably 10 customers. ...

Loosing one Boss Hoss would be bad enough..but 10...dammit...not good. I guess that potential is always there.

Seems like the good news is that nobody was seriously injured...

The truck driver Ernst was in hospital for a few hours, but everything is OK with him. He managed to save the tracktor.
The trailer and the 10 Boss Hoss in the upper deck of the trailer are lost, 2 new ones and 8 customized. One of them should have been revealed at the European Bike Week in Faak. :frustrated:

Things can be replaced.
Ernst could not be replaced.
Thankful that Ernst will be okay.

It seems they found a reason for the fire:

What did they find:
'One of the motorcycles on the upper deck had an electric fault that caused the fire.'
Bad luck...

Andy has built some incredible machines using a different recipe, some really cool shit, unique from the approach that is common on this side of the pond; I hope they were insured and he / they rebuild even better using some of that hind-sight knowledge that always seems to exist.
