Track times

Post by Iron Maiden »

There is a thread here discussing track times and it got me thinking. I am sure there a few of you that have taken your bikes/trikes to the track or know someone that has. Just curious what kind of times did you run? How fast did you go? Did you use nitrous, slicks, etc? I am constantly being asked these questions so I would love to here what these machines are capable of just in case I take mine to the track I will know what I am up against

I'm surprised there is no interest in this thread.

Guess somebody has to go first so here goes and
please remember these are from memory and I
could be off a 1/100 of a second or two. I will
start with the first V8 I every took to a track
and go from there.

2003 Boss Hoss 32 Coupe with 502 previously
owned by Neil Weber. Ran the 1/8 mile at 7.05
at 105 mph. Trike was stock.

Then added Edelbrock kit that claimed to raise
horsepower to 600 but I never could run as fast
when it was stock. Gave up on trying to race a
32 Coupe as the power train just wouldn't handle
my abuse. Tore up rear ends, transmissions, and
decided it wasn't designed to be raced.

Took Debs 2008 57 Chevy to Cordova Raceway
and ran 11.77 in the 1/4 mile at 117 mph. Was
a little disappointed with the performance but she
loves the trike so its all good.

Deb has made 50+ passes at Conesville's 1/8 mile
and it usually runs 7.30-7.45

Bought 1st V8 Chopper in fall of 2008 it had the
520hp motor started taking it to the dragstrip when it had 170 miles on it and it would run consistant 6.51-
6.60 1/8 miles. A first thought this was studly but quickly became bored with that.

Added a 600hp 434 Dart to same chopper and got
the times down to 6.30

Added 100# shot of NOS and got down to 6.22

Added 200# shot of NOS and got down to 6.08

All those better times were at a prepped track
with wheelie bars and slicks.

It was my goal to get under 6 seconds but I just couldn't fucking do it! ( Shane will understand)

After 7-8 beers at a local bike night in front of the
Harley crowd my times have been known to improve!

I'm sure there is lots of interest in this thread,Perv, but even though I've made hundreds of passes on the 1/8th and 1/4 miles, for some reason I've never made one on a V8 bike or trike.

In one of Mike Kelly's videos I think he says he turned a 5.90 something in the 1/8 and I think it was on the bike he sold Eagle . Remember I said I think . Maybe someone can verify this .

Wow some really impressive times!!! I heard that Marv has pretty fast times on the track, does anyone have any details? Not sure if he is a member here or if he posts? Hey Perv, what is the story behind this pic?

There's a neat little steakhouse called Meo Mio's located
near Paris TN. Each year at the Boss Hoss national rally
I try to do a little painting. I believe this blue smoke
burnout was from the first year. A decent sized group of us stopped for a drink and supper and going up the little hill makes for a great burnout. A thick fog of blue smoke drifted over the bar and everyone seemed to love it so it's became a yearly tradition.

He does take his "Supportive" role seriously :burnout:
Who says building a border wall won't work?!? The Chinese built one over 2000 years ago and they STILL don't have any Mexicans ...

Just in case Iron Maiden is too shy to ask again I will explain my signature photo.

A couple adult entertainers paid a visit to a local bike
night and then decided to pose on my chopper trike.

The Brunettes stage name is Felony Foreplay and she was a hoot! Can't remember the blondes name but
she pissed me off by posing on my trike without taking
her top off!

I was lucky enough to be with Perv at Mia Mios, and witness the smoke show. (Im standing in the video) I think everyone in the place came out to see. The only thing that could have made it better was another 10' of shut down area!

In another run Marv ran a 6.39 at 116 mph which aint bad on a concrete track with no prep.

No speed records were set at Conesville but we had a great time.
