Cable Lube
Don't know how anyone else lubes the throttle cable, but I use a regular cable luber that I use for the Harley cables. It doesn't work quite the same ,but if you stick it in up to the connector and block the top hole with your finger and hold the connector tight against the luber with your other finge...

Re: monte's bubble plane
Jack I ain't trying to pick a fight with you but,the other night my wife was adding up recipts,I've spent more on up grades to the Hoss in about the year I've owned it than regular maintenance to the Harley in four years and 35,000 miles,I say the facts speak for themselfs.

Re: monte's bubble plane
I have heard plenty of Hoss break down stories,as I'm sure you have Jack, you dang near carry enough stuff to do a rebuild on the road, when I leave on the Harley to anywhere,I carry a few tools, clamps, fuses,a little wire, that's it nothing else needed.Never even needed any of that stuff, always make s...

Re: monte's bubble plane
Okie , apparently you haven't been riding Harleys very long . I have and can remember back in the Panhead and Shovelhead era and before we used to have to have a couple of trucks or vans follow us if we planned a 100 mile ride to pick up the broken down Harleys . I've owned a lot of Harleys and sti...

Re: monte's bubble plane
Yeah, some people hear my bitching and say well I'll buy it if you don't like it,but they damn straight don't want to pay what I have in it.I am happier with it the more I do to it,the bike has never left me stranded, and if I thought it was worthless I sure would not put good money after bad.The whol...

Re: monte's bubble plane
One more thing,if I had done my home work,I would have not bought the Hoss,it has too many issues.I have always thought they were ugly, the V8 motor was the only thing I liked about it.Then I made the mistake of riding one and just had to have one,I could not get over the feel of the thing but I let ...

Re: monte's bubble plane
Oh I like my Hoss but for a guy with his knowledge and being a pilot,non-greaseable swing arm bushings, not water proof wiring and connectors,a belt pully off a Fireo with a v belt, frame not gusseted properly, shakey transmission with a vent plug spewing oil over the back of bike, come on I don't have ...

Re: Magnefine Inline Filter
Yeah,I meant the inner is just a fuel filter, took mine apart,it had a little beard on the magnet nothing big,if I would have known that I wouldn't have bought another, just cleaned her up and put back in.Same with my pickup filter in the tranny, nothing on it,just found a few sprinkles on the pan,foun...

I changed master clylinders on a Case backhoe and was surprised they run ATF instead of brake fluid,I like the idea ,but am afraid to try it in my bike.
