Re: ARNOTT AIR SHOCKS
Jack, I have seen your bike and it is one of the nicest Boss Hoss bikes I have ever seen. Its mechanically outstanding. Just a simple, clean, sanitary, well sorted bike. Pride of ownership shows. Have fun. Thanks Dave , that means a lot to me coming from a fellow rider of your caliber ! Working on ...

Re: ARNOTT AIR SHOCKS
Its been some days now since I cleaned a valve in the distribution block and the shocks have not lost any air. Life is good as my old Boss Hoss is like new again. Everything is working perfectly. Trans shifts like new, rear tire is new, air shocks don't leak at all, and a new LED light bulb was put...

Re: 25th Annual BIKETOBERFEST 2017
As of August 25th I had booked and paid for a place for 10 days. All was well. Today I emailed to confirm and received an email back that the damage closed the Hotel and I am shit out of luck. On the hunt in a big way again. Fingers crossed. That's strange , we heard they were open for business ? T...
Re: Tear Down
Installed the fuel shut off solenoid in the fuel line between the carb and the distributor . Seems to work great . Now to remove the carb inlet filter with the little check valve .

Re: Tear Down
Thanks John , I see them on ebay .Carl La Fong wrote:It's an AFC 121.
I went ahead and moved it to the main tank line. Gets it out of the hot engine valley and is more accessible if I have a problem down the road
Re: Tear Down
20170905_162917.jpg The bike has been together for a week, or so. Everything seems good, so far. I stripped off all of the old black paint. Time for a change. It's in primer, right now. I'll get to the paint later this year or early 2018. I decided to redo my fuel lines with AN fittings, like I had...
Re: Tear Down
I run a Holley Red as my main fuel pump but I also have a small NAPA fuel pump plumbed into my system via Y fittings and a switch where if my Holley pump fails I can simply switch over to the NAPA pump to keep me going . I also have a separate fuel pressure gage for each pump so I can see what's hap...

Re: Hurricane Irma....updates...Check in!!
I know my in laws that live in Fort Myers have left the state just in case . They are in their 80's so why take the Chance of trying to ride it out if it if Erma does hit thier area . They have relatives out of the state they can stay with until it blows over .
Re: Tear Down
John , I like the fuel shut off solenoid but is there a reason why you installed it close to the carb as compared to somewhere near the gas tank petcock . I have plenty of room to install one inline after the fuel petcock between the carb and the distributor unless there's a good reason not to . Tha...

Re: Tach
I appreciate all the help guys but I found the culprit, a broken wire between the tach and the tachometer . Thanks again , Jack
Re: Tach
Assume there is 12V power to the tach when the key switch is on. Check continuity (Green Wire) from the tach to the negative side of the coil. If your bike has some kind of ignition module the green tach wire may go there. I would doubt it is the coil, if your bike starts and runs. Mark , I've got ...

Tachometer
Would anyone happen to have a white face 2 1/16" Boss Hoss tachometer they would sell me ?
Thanks, Jack
Thanks, Jack
Re: Tach
Jack , the easiest way is gonna be to test it with a good tach. You can't read the pulses with a meter or a test light. Maybe find one at wally world that you can return after you test it ! :capwin: Thanks Jeff , if my tach does check out to be OK wouldn't it have to be something wrong with the coi...
Tach
All of the sudden after 17 years of ownership my tach quit working . I haven't done any checking yet but it seems simple , either it has power from the distributor or not . It seems to be getting power because it jumps slightly when switched on or could there be something wrong with the tach pick up...
