Wheel bearings
Are the front and rear wheel bearings for an '09 SB specific for the Boss Hoss or are they the same as what HD uses and if so do you have a HD part # for the front and rears? Thanks.

Re: Fuel Filter
That was my '05 that caught fire and burned down 6 years ago. The insurance company sent out a cause and origin guy to inspect the bike but he was never able to determine for sure what the cause was, although I did have a glass filter that was shattered, but he couldn't tell for sure whether the gla...
Re: HOW LONG
You may remember my first Boss (a 2005) caught fire and burned to the ground 6 years or so ago. I think it had about 23K miles on it at the time. Then I got my present '09 new from Tom at MBH and it now has 29K miles. I too am not riding as much as I was years ago and most of my rides are just close...

Re: Front Tire
For the life of me I have no idea why anyone would run a rear tire on the front mounted backwards, but then again I wouldn't run a car tire either. But anyway I am using the Metzler ME888 Marathon Ultra and have been very happy with it.

Re: Spring Rate - Rear Shocks
Bill - I had my right side upper engine mount bolt break off several years ago. I was lucky and was able to back out the broken piece from the mounting tab without much difficulty. It was just a regular bolt so I realigned the mounts on both sides so there was no stress and replaced both with grade ...

Re: Motor Mount Issues
My right side motor mount bolt broke a couple of years ago. I was able to extract it and see that it was just a regular bolt so I got a grade 8 bolt and carefully shimmed it up with the motor mount bracket so it fit perfectly and it's been fine ever since.
Re: Monte
No coffee. My treat for dinner when you are in my neighborhood.
Re: Monte
No worries Barry. Enjoy your stay in Philly and have a safe trip back home. We'll catch up sometime.
Re: Monte
Barry if you are still in Philly PM me if you can shake free for a bit as I'm not far away.

Re: ODYSSEY BATTERY
I recently replaced my original battery of 7 years. I had no complaints with it and no reason to switch brands from the OEM battery so I replaced it with the same one. $169 with shipping on eBay --->

That's all you need. It's nothing special. Better than paying $8.95 plus $8 for regular shipping.

Dave - by chance were you riding your BH on the strip in front of Circus Circus last Friday night around midnight? I was returning from The Westgate and it passed me. The bike was like a yellow/orange I think and I believe it was a SB.

Weather on Friday turned out ok except for a brief shower around 5 which cleared up quickly. Saturday and Sunday were perfect. Sorry we missed you. And yes many prayers sent out to Dick. We all wish him the best.

Ricky - the new transmission sounds very nice but for those of us with existing Nesco's - will replacement parts be available for repairs should we have a maintenance issue?

Re: Thunder in the Valley Johnstown,pa
Was nice seeing you and Dawn and also Bill, Tracy and Steve and everyone else who attended. Always a good time at this event and the weather turned out nice. My ride home today was a little over 6 hours but my bike ran perfect all weekend and Rt. 30 is very scenic. I put on about 650 miles in the 3 ...

The backrest on my '09 slides into a slot in the seatpan and not the frame and just slides out when not wanted.
