Re: The Bar's First Bike Night

Glad bike night was a success! Be careful demonstrating the power, especially if you are going to turn around and come back the smell of the smoke just makes you want to do it again. Fom my experience the third time is too much ;)

Re: Another reason to be nice to people

I haven't seen the revised laws yet but Kansas as I understand already can own full auto, and Missouri can sometime this month. As I said I don't know what will be required but I have been told it will not be that hard to obtain. I was also told that more states than I expected allow full auto. Eve...

Re: Should have taken Tim Sirons advise!

Unfortunately the correct valve body was not enough of a solution. The first transmission did have a manual valve body, although did not completely work correctly as a manual either. The only way to get first gear was to shutoff and restart the engine while the shifter was in first range. Second and...

Re: Should have taken Tim Sirons advise!

Ron, It sucks when your toy breaks. With our chevy work trucks we have found local trans shops to be hit or miss. Our solution is to buy a GM factory rebuilt trans, it cost a little more but hold together better. Howie That would be great if GM still built a 350 transmission. I checked and double c...

Re: Another reason to be nice to people

An armed society is a polite society. BTW,I know personally what is required to own a legally-registered automatic weapon and it's safe to say you won't see people carrying them around in their day to day routine. I haven't seen the revised laws yet but Kansas as I understand already can own full a...

Re: Retro-fit of gear indicator?

#7 converter makes it much easier to realize you are in the wrong gear. The gear indicator uses a C transmission I believe which has the connector on the back to plug in the wires for the gear indicator. I don't know what internally is used and if it could be added.

Re: Mountain Tank and fuel sender...

Olaf, I have a 2000 Harley Softail FXST. The left gas cap is a fuel gauge, it has a sticker on it that says do not twist, so I never have. I am not sure but suspect it screws in like a gascap and contains the sender. Maybe someone else knows more. I am not even sure how it gets wires to it must go t...

La Crosse Pics

La Crosse was a great time. I enjoyed all the rides and people. Many of the rides took us to some great scenery for pics. We had some great times in the bar at night too. A large group had dinner in honor of Aussie Rob the last night too. http://s236.photobucket.com/albums/ff76/srf_album/La%20Crosse...

I don't know what this has to do with used tires, but I just found my range finder and will pack it on my bike if anyone needs to measure any distances next week

Re: Pan leaking

It has been a while since I have done anything with that seal so someone correct me if I am wrong but I think I remember the details. Remove the shift linkage from the shaft, 2 set screws holding it in place. Burrs off shaft with emery cloth or equivalent, as burrs could damage the new seal. Unscrew...

Re: Congratulations Shane!!

I personally have no proof of the 460 rwhp, but the owner actually claimed he believes it is higher. He does own a performance shop that specializes in turbos and has a dyno. Also has proven all he needs to with his drag bike so he has no reason to exaggerate. Here are a couple articles about his ot...

Re: Congratulations Shane!!

Yes the first green Busa is the turbo bike we saw in Smithers Customs. He said it has 460hp at the rear wheel on the dyno, but it is still spinning and can't get the full power to read. That is tying it down enough the tire is trying to come off of the rim.

Re: Speedo is haywire ?

Sounds similar to mine when it went bad. Check everything you can then send it to Autometer for repair. They replaced mine for free. My odometer still worked fine when the speedometer did similar things which indicated the speed sensor was reading.
