Why scared of clutches? Torque converters give torque multiplication allowing better use of the power with less gear ranges in 1 and 2 speed transmission. This four speed could be very interesting, seems it could be a good transmission for towing assuming it is durable. Not sure I would be ready to give up my 2 speed for one, but would be interested in having one of each.
