OUTRAGEOUS CLAIMS
Has anybody heard what they consider to be an outrageous claim by someone about any one of the brands of V8 bikes. Quarter mile speeds, top speeds, horsepower etc.

Re: FAST STOCK TRIKE
Perv is correct, I was just commenting on what I perceived to be a stock V8 Chopper trikes remarkable performance. V8 Chopper sells 3 models of crate engines built by Dart installed in their bikes or trikes. They are a 350, a 400 and a 427. I called it a stock trike because it had one of those engin...

Perv, There was a question on the other site about this that I couldn't answer that I figured you could. Someone wanted to know how fast a big block trike would go.

FAST STOCK TRIKE
I came back to Oklahoma to visit with Stan for a week and noticed a picture in the shop that was recently taken. It shows a stock green V8 Chopper trike as delivered with street tires, no nitrous, stock 427 engine, that just turned an 9.89 at 142 in the quarter mile. The dragstrip time ticket was al...

Re: Aluminum VS Cast Iron, Engine Blocks,,,,
Most people think a couple of hundred pounds but it is only about 80 pounds. Sometimes when I'm selling bikes and I get a fat customer that is noticeably shocked by the cost of an aluminum engine I explain plan B. Plan B replaces the aluminum engine with a case of lettuce. The weight savings are abo...

CLASSIC BIKE AUCTION
January 10th, 11th, 12th here in Las Vegas is the worlds largest classic bike auction. Since I live here and love classic bikes I attend every year. It lasts 3 days and about every classic bike ever made usually finds its way here at one time or another. Its held inside where its warm and is lots of...

Re: Aluminum VS Cast Iron, Engine Blocks,,,,
Aluminum block will save approximately 80 pounds on a SB. They are great for racing but not as good as a cast iron for cruising IMO.

BRITISH BIKE RIDE
Twice a year in sunny southern california there is a ride called the HANSEN DAM RIDE. It's primarily an old British bike ride but in the last ten years its become a huge event with any and all types of bikes new and old. I would say that now only about half are old british bikes. VINCENT, BSA, TRIUM...

Re: THE THRILL IS ON
Jack, its hard to believe we rode Triumphs and BSA in the dirt. I used to think 'WOW A SWING ARM SUSPENSION" even if it was only slightly better than a "sprung hub". I rode some early YAMAHA dirt bikes in the seventies and thought they were a MARVEL. In the nineties I bought a HONDA 4...

Happy birthday Clint. The only bad ones end in zero. You have a bunch coming that won't be so traumatic. Thanks,Dave. The one I'm kinda looking forward to is 62. ;) Looks like I've been blacklisted on the other site. That's pretty damned sorry,if true. I don't believe they would have blacklisted yo...

Re: Remember Where You Were 50 Years Ago Today ?
I was in Houston Texas, I rode my knucklehead chopper there from Los Angeles. I was 20 years old and had just got my Merchant Marine card (long story) and since it was near the holidays I was told to go to Houston and I could probably get my first ship as the guys with seniority would probably stay ...

I also have never flushed any bike or cars brake fluid I've ever owned. I'm definitely an old fart since the first cars I drove which were model A Fords then 1933 Fords didn't even have hydraulic brakes, they had rods leading from the pedal to the backing plates. Hydraulic brakes came standard on th...
