Re: Latest V8 project.
So from the looks of the front frame down tube, the engine is going to be a stressed member part of the frame ... interesting. How do you allow for torque thrust? I am asking because I have ZERO knowledge on this subject and want to be educated. I would think ( based on nothing but my own uneducate...

Re: BH trans rumors
Bill a new Nesco is only about ten grand because of Boss Hoss. If you could buy it from Nesco with only Nesco getting the profit it would be a lot less. A new 700R4 is only about four grand. Yeah, but thousands of 700R4's are produced and sold; profit through volume. It would be sweet if cost comes...

Re: Sabertooth
Well, it's been, nearly, two months and the four speed Sabertooth hasn't been seen, yet. I'm almost ready to raise the brown flag on this one, but I'll wait a few more months. I'd still like to know what became of the V8 Choppers two speed touring bike. I heard a lot of good things about it and, ev...

Re: BH trans rumors
Sounds like you know him pretty good. How bout calling him and see what his plans are with the trans. Is he gonna sell em to anybody? Just dealers? Is he gonna do like Stan and just put em in his own bikes? How much will they cost? Is he gonna tell ya anything or just wish ya a Merry Christmas? Eve...

Re: BH Trans Rumors
My guess is being that its built by a company that specializes in gear products it will be a good one. The other reason why I was excited when I learned about this was I ASSUMED it would cost less, maybe like 3000 dollars. If it costs more than a Nesco than some of my excitement will be tempered. Th...

Re: BH trans rumors
Ric, a larger drive sprocket or smaller rear sprocket could keep it at the same rpm although a possible belt change may be required. After tomorrow some more will be learned by those that call and then post.

Re: BH trans rumors
Boss Hoss has nothing to do with this is why you haven't heard from them. I thought you'd like the site thing LaFong, I too hope it will help this unmoderated site. There is much more to this story that will come out in time. It might or might not be so good for BH, Nesco or the dealers but for sure...

Re: BH trans rumors
Its a two speed but second gear is direct not an overdrive like the Nesco. It has a six pin planetary gear which is stronger. The picture of it in a Boss Hoss frame shows that it fits. I don't know what it costs.

Re: BH trans rumors
A little more of the rumor that could be real or not is that this trans will be available to anyone direct from Winters which might make the price much more reasonable.

Re: BH trans rumors
I'm not sure whats up but I did see a picture of it and its real. I heard some things about it but second hand. Winters is open tomorrow and someone could call them and get some info right from them instead of a rumor from me. It might be a good thing for Boss Hoss guys. Winters Performance is a maj...

I am happy that some of you guys notice that strange things can happen at the strip. The outrageous claim by the well unrespected member of the other site is a LIE.

Re: Aluminum VS Cast Iron, Engine Blocks,,,,
Barry, one thing my small block Boss Hoss doesn't lack is stability. I can take my hands off the bars at any speed and it tracks straight and stays stable as a rock. Still for cruising on the freeways the heavier the bike the less winds affect it which really makes for a comfortable ride.

Re: OUTRAGEOUS CLAIMS
I agree with moose, 200 mph on a Boss Hoss is bullshit. I think its possible that one might go 185 so I won't call it a lie but its probably not true. I'm sure they will go somewhere north of 150 but I don't know where wind resistance, gearing, power etc will put an end to it. I rode my Chopper at 1...

Re: OUTRAGEOUS CLAIMS
165 MPH IN THE QUARTER! What kind of V8 bike was it? What size motor? Was it a real light rider? 250 MPH! Was it at the salt flats or in town? Probably perfect weather conditions. Never rode a BIG BRUTE, I guess they were pretty quick.
