Re: Tech topics

I like the tech stuff. Problems, fixes, modifications etc. Its interesting even if its been bought up before. As the years go by there's new products and new improvements available so there's always a chance to learn something. One thing I notice is that when I first came around there was always som...

Re: CANADIANS

I found that there's a holiday in northern California, Frisco to be exact. Its a gay holiday of some sort so I tried to post the pictures of the gay guys on the other site showing the difference between it and the Canadian holiday. I did it primarily to start trouble but it got deleted.

Re: OUTRAGEOUS CLAIMS

Adrian holds the world record for a stock SB Boss Hoss at the drag strip and he's got the time slip to prove it. It would've been faster except the stock tires were just not up to getting a bite due to the massive horsepower and torque the stock ZZ4 puts out. Luckily it didn't twist the frame in two...

Re: V8 Chopper belt replacement

As I recall you have to loosen the water pump and move it slightly on the block to adjust the lower belt. I never did it myself so I could be wrong. My bike manages to get to Oklahoma at least every couple of years and usually gets whatever it needs at that time. The upper belt adjustment is easy.

Re: WHATS THE CORRECT ANSWER

Barry, yes and no. If the bike goes to the right without hands on the bars than of course it will take some sort of pressure to keep that from happening when you put your hands back on the bars. I am anxiously awaiting a picture of the factory tool. All major roads are normally built with a crown fo...

Re: WHATS THE CORRECT ANSWER

Clint, the bar goes thru everything you described but that just checks the transmission height so that the u joint doesn't bind. It keeps the swing arm pivot point centered with the yoke pivot point. You would adjust that by raising or lowering the transmission. The rear axle ANGLE adjusts the direc...

Re: WHATS THE CORRECT ANSWER

Thanks Clint, I see the bar that Adrian made which is not a rear axle alignment tool. Adrian mentions a rear axle alignment tool for 100 dollars from Boss Hoss but there are no pictures of one nor is there a part number for such a tool. Hawk88 asked to see a picture of one but none was ever posted a...

Re: WHATS THE CORRECT ANSWER

Thanks Clint, I read Niel Webers directions. He advises canting the rear axle slightly to the right to make trikes not pull to the right. I'm gonna try it this week and see what happens. You still need to tell me what SPECIAL tool Boss Hoss sells to adjust the rear axle, I can't figure out what it d...

Re: WHATS THE CORRECT ANSWER

Clint, what does the BH tool do? When you let go of the bars on the trikes you rode did it normally only wander in one direction such as to the right or to the left. I'm trying to end up with a trike that only wanders due to the crown of the road, on flat road it wouldn't wander. Do you think this i...

Re: WHATS THE CORRECT ANSWER

What my trike has is a stock Boss Hoss rear end with a different ring and pinion so i have a higher ratio. So David can I just move one side of the axle forward or backward and have the bike veer off in a different direction. How else can you align the rear end besides that adjustment. I run the sam...

WHATS THE CORRECT ANSWER

My trike does not track perfectly straight on a straight road with no crown. It pulls to the right slightly. Some have said to move the wheel on the side it pulls to forward towards the handlebars. Some have said the opposite. Some have said I'll never get a trike to track straight with hands off th...

Re: BH trans rumors

After looking at the pix of the trans, I noticed the front pulley seem the same size as a stock BH pulley. This makes me think it is a one speed with overdrive, just like the Nesco. This seems an odd choice, knowing that the O/D is the weak point. Carl....not from what I understood...would have bee...

Re: BH trans rumors

I would say the belt tension had more to do with failure than training wheels. The output shaft flex is a killer and there have been a few attempts at fixing it including a bearing that mounted on the outside. The flex tears up the planetary set which slowly grinds itself to failure. Only enough ten...

Re: BH trans rumors

It sounds good to me. The new case has probably been designed for that extra bearing. I think the guys that hot rod their bikes by power shifting into second would be better off if the second gear was a direct ratio instead of an overdrive which it very well may be. If the ratio isn't so wide the cl...

A friend of mine called Winters and was told that second gear is an OVERDRIVE. I was told by someone else that it was DIRECT but he didn't work for Winters. I don't know who's right. The output shaft is the same size as a Nesco. The output shaft on a Nesco flex's because of the huge belt tension and...

Re: BH trans rumors

The parts are better and should be a big improvement. Also second gear is direct instead of overdrive which should be a little stronger. From what I am told the planetary gears are on the wrong side of the trans by design to keep it short just like the Nesco but the gearset is improved. It seems to ...

Re: Latest V8 project.

Lots of people ask me about the torque when I'm selling bikes. Some think it will just throw you to the ground if you give it the gas. I tell them that you can only feel it with the bike stopped. It may be present once its moving but I never feel it. I don't think the frame absorbs it, I just think ...
