Re: Monte

Another factor is that the bikes and especially the trikes will damn near last forever. They use mostly off the shelf automotive parts. Its harder for many to trade up as it costs so much when there is nothing wrong with the old one. I have had the same two V8 bikes for many years with no major prob...

Re: Monte

I believe that the way Boss Hoss was and is set up is they need lots of dealers...period.... to sell their product. Having a small dealer that at least has one on the floor is great in my opinion. I learnt early in my business life about 25 years ago that "a little bit of something is better t...

Re: Monte

There is no way the bikes or trikes can get to a low enough selling price to sell many of them. If they were 45000 dollars how many more do you think they would sell than if they were 55000? If they were 45000 dollars the factory would still go broke. I sold V8 Choppers at Daytona and Sturgis with t...

Re: Monte

I feel bad for RICK mainly because he lost his dream and his money. My opinion is Boss Hoss will never recover. It was in the shitter when Rick got it and if it didn't pull out of it with Ricks help it never will. It comes down to a simple scenario. V8 bikes and even trikes are a niche market and an...

Re: Twin chops

It was fun palling around with Ventury for a week. We rode our V8 Choppers for a day together here in Vegas and thru the national park. The next day John followed me to a car show on his bike while Gina and I took the 38 Buick to a car show. His bike was the biggest crowd pleaser and it was obvious ...

Re: three wheeler progress

Jack, my bike was a vapor locker from hell. I mounted a Holley Red under the left side cover about 7 years ago and even without a fan on it or any special cooling mod it has never vapor locked again. Temps here in Vegas are some of the hottest in the country and its been reliable. I even put one on ...

Re: Now closed on Mondays

The good thing for the buyer but not so much for the manufacturer is that V8 bikes last and last and last, unlike most bikes they don't seem to get old. Many guys just buy one and never get rid of it. Some trade up but many just do upgrades. The way to get your moneys worth out of them is to ride th...

Re: Now closed on Mondays

The secret to Stans success is he has a low overhead and a quality product. He has several models of trikes with different suspensions, frames, and bodies, they sell very well and his bikes do too. He is the designer, builder and salesman and he has slowly built a good name for himself and his produ...

Re: Now closed on Mondays

The Barbarian V8 is a great looking bike in my opinion. Its more like a conventional motorcycle, not big and bulky looking. If they can sell a V8 2 peed manual kit for under 40 grand they will start to break into the market. When others see them being ridden and talk with the owners they might surpr...

Re: Now closed on Mondays

I still think kits in various stages is a good thing. The big problem is customers want the bikes to cost less. That means the factory will make less. If the factory makes any less than it is now it probably won't stay in business. It might be possible if the volume of sales went way up but it won't...

Re: Now closed on Mondays

In my opinion the V8 Bikes and to a lesser extent the V8 Trikes are impulse purchases. They are fairly easy to sell at the major shows like Sturgis and Daytona because many enthusiasts come and spend some days away from the reality of their real lives. If the bikes and trikes are appealing when a gu...

Re: Now closed on Mondays

The economy is NOT doing very well in my opinion unlike what the Obama administration would like us to believe. How many new bikes has Boss Hoss sold and how many does it need to sell to be profitable. How many people have sixty or seventy thousand dollars for a motorcycle, or a trike, not many. Its...

Re: DRAGGING THE PIPES

One nice thing about a Boss Hoss is that after you're used to riding it for several years and then ride a Triumph Rocket 3 which is barely over 800 pounds it feels like a road racer. If I know that a ride is going to be primarily over twisty roads I will take the Triumph. If its going to be lots of ...

Re: DRAGGING THE PIPES

These bikes do pretty good considering the weight. I do notice that after riding the BH for awhile anything else seems like a road racer! These are just unique motorcycles in every way. They are like a Kenworth on two wheels when on a freeway, no wind bothers them and they just have so much power an...

SQ4MN Glad to see your back on two wheels When the blacktop is warm and the N.V weather is as it nearly always is ,I think the Boss clings onto the roads well. After an hr of riding I feel like me and the bike get cosy and flow nicely through the twisties,,,,so much that I feel sad when my ride ends...
