ANOTHER BIKE

Some of you older guys might remember these. Its a 1970 Triumph TR6 TIGER 650. These bikes unlike the earlier Triumphs were a unit construction meaning the engine and trans shared the same case. In 1970 they were still 4 speed transmissions but that changed in 1972 to a 5 speed transmission. LaFong ...

Re: ONCE IN A LIFETIME

Some things are just to good to miss. Owning and riding a V8 motorcycle is an experience that is reserved for way less than one hundredth of one percent of motorcycle riders in the world. Less than half of that already minuscule number have ever owned and ridden a V8 Chopper. I started riding about...

Re: ONCE IN A LIFETIME

It amazes me how many of us have been on this or the other site for years. Will be fun to meet for first time or to see some old pals.

I still got them from 7 years ago and no problems but now that they don't make them any more all bets are off.

I did not even start to realize how long this would take. We should have put it on a plane and sent it AIR FREIGHT!

Re: ONCE IN A LIFETIME

Dave its good to read your V8 experience, you echo the folks here Iam sure The thought of ever riding such a beast was beyond my dreams,as a kid with dyslexia,( dyslexia in those days was a 'Dumb kid' label) , let alone owning one or many My blessing has been able to own and ride a V8 across the lan...

Re: Polaris drops VICTORY

My take is that the Victory, Indian, Harley, are all pretty good motorcycles but if you been riding for many years they are boring. I like the way Harleys and the Indians look as their paint, chrome, and finish is outstanding. The performance is just the same old thing. If you are a pretty new to mo...

Re: Ignition Upgrade

I agree with Paul H, the MSD have been around forever and they really work good. I still haven't done a thing to what mine came stock with but the MSD will go there if mine ever gives me the slightest bit of trouble.

Re: Monte

Jack I know how you feel about spending the money. I did it and didn't like it but all the talk about the what if this and what if that doesn't really bother me. I can keep this bike as long as I want and it will never be sitting because of unavailability of parts. In actuality I don't think there w...

Re: Monte

Jack, If you don't crash these bikes the trans is the only thing that could possibly stop them and I doubt that will ever be the case. My advice to you is to buy the parts to rebuild yours now while you can and rest easily that you will be covered. If you never use them they will always be worth wha...

Re: Monte

I hope that the factory does not completely go out of business or completely quit making two wheelers but it might. If that becomes the case someone will supply the parts for Nesco transmissions for many many years. There are enough bikes in the US and Germany to guarantee that there is a niche mark...

Re: Monte

The news I got was that Tim was rebuilding Nesco transmissions with the latest upgrades. I did not talk to him myself but a friend of mine that knows him did and my friend ordered the clutch plates from him for me. Someone that knows Tim could call him and ask about exactly what the situation and pr...

I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT TIM AT BOSS HOSSS CONCEPTS IS SELLING PARTS AND DOING OVERHAULS WITH OR WITHOUT UPGRADES. I ORDERED A CLUTCH PACK AND THEY HAD THE STOCK ONES OR UPGRADED ONES.

Barry, since you know whoever may be selling the WINTERS TRANSMISSION how about calling them and seeing if the public can buy them and for how much. It would be great info for everyone that owns a BOSS HOSS BIKE.

Re: Monte

THANKS BARRY for the info. Do you have any info on where to get any more parts or any rumors of anyone thinking of making them? I can't imagine that if an owner of a Boss Hoss bike breaks his Nesco he will be SOL. What would he do? My question about has anyone heard of a NESCO breaking in the last s...

Re: Monte

Has anybody heard of any Nesco transmission failures in the last six months, we used to hear of them every week. I used to think my bike was one ride away from disaster but now 30000 miles later it seems it might last a long time. However I bought all the parts to rebuild it when they were still ava...

Re: Monte

At the shows guys would always ask what would happen if it ever fell over. Stan is a short guy so he would tip a V8 Chopper all the way over and then lift it right up using the wheel to the opposite direction method. I told them I was 72 years old and that if I could do it anyone ought to be able to...

Turn the bars full lock towards the side opposite the kickstand before you try to raise it up and it will raise up easier.

Re: Monte

Maybe six is the minimum that can be bought although I don't have any idea who you get them from. I hope he has orders for six bikes. The worse thing that can happen is if he does close the doors it will be hard to get certain parts. The mechanical parts other than Nesco parts should not be a big pr...

I agree that it can be done IF its restructured completely different than it is now. Its the overhead that kills it I think. I don't know the exact particulars but my guess is that there are to many partners and outstanding loans and employees, high insurance premiums and no money for marketing. The...

This post is mainly for John who I know and respect. I am not implying that everyone has a boatload of cash to spend but I am just relaying my own experience selling NEW V8 Choppers. I did it for only 3 shows as they are in the other end of the country and at the time I also had a small trucking com...
